Externally water cooled HTPC with alot of juice in it.

This is the final build (around 95% at least) and here are some pictures of it (i'm getting better at that damned camera haha):

Those two EKWB nickel plated fittings will be replaced with Monsoon 13/10 black ones.

 I do dig the gold theme.

 I'm pretty pleased with the solution, it's extremely tight in this Silverstone Crown case.

 It is pretty difficult to get a good view for a great picture of the graphics cards.

 Too bad the UV doesn't show in these pictures.

 The tubing to the external cooler comes out the back where i drilled two holes and places two Bitspower fittings.

An overview.

Intel Overdrive! 50Mhz!! And a sweet Cyrix!!!

Today i went shopping in my silver machine (it's magic) and found these two awesome processors, almost brand new.

Now how about that?

My water cooled Intel Core i7 monster machine laughed and made fun of the little Intel (i just know he did) but i shut the power off, not so tough now are we?

Ha!

Review: Intel Thermal Solution RTS2011AC (Socket 2011)

The Intel Thermal Solution for the 2011 socket may not look like a big deal when it comes to cooling a processor, a pretty cheap air cooler sharing looks with older air solutions from Intel it does what it's supposed to do, cool the processor to sweet temperatures, let's have a closer look.

As you can see the fan itself was tested in a pretty ventilated system.


To make a long story short, you get more than what you pay for, this little darling idles a clocked i7 3820 at around 35c and under load in
Batttlefield 4 it lands somewhere around 55-60c.




Best suited for: an aircooled and stable non clocked system.

Overclock friendly: for testing only, not as a permanent solution.

Remarks: it is a tiny little horizontal fan driven cooling solution that delivers good cooling to a non overclocked socket 2011 system. 
                  if you run the fan at full speed better temps will follow but nothing fancy, although you will get the sound of a mini helicopter.
Other uses: it could come in handy some time (your waterblock leaked or something similar) when you need a spare temporary solution. 
                      In other words, its so cheap that you could have one of these laying around for a rainy day.

Intel Core i7 3820, ASUS GTX 770 OC DCUII (2GB), 32GB RAM in a budget case (pre-review).

Not that long ago i upgraded my Intel based computer out of two reasons, it was beginning to show signs of aging and i could definately benefit emotionally of a new system since this Intel Core2Duo 2.13ghz was around 7 years or so old.


So, after switching to some used parts i got from a friend i decided to get brand new stuff so first i upgraded the motherboard, the CPU, the RAM and the graphics card.
I have to admit that i wasn't very upgraded regarding my knowledge of the market at the time so when friends heard about my new system they immediately identified the bottleneck (and rightfully so from time to time mocked me about it), Nvidia GT 630 (4gb version).

To my defense, those 4gb GPU RAM sure looked sweet theoretically.

Anyhow, i replaced it with a Asus GTX770 OC DCUII (2gb version) and still kept my old case for the challenge (and the cool looks of a pretty sweet computer with an older budget case).

My cooling adventure had begun.

No more old used stuff, the goodies are delivered:

ASUS P9X79 (motherboard).

Intel Thermal Solution Socket 2011 (CPU cooler).

Corsair Vengeance 32gb (RAM).

Intel i7 3820 (CPU).

When looking back, that old case sure was pretty ugly.

More goodies, that HDD kit came in handy later on.

ASUS DirectCU II OC (graphics card).

Lian Li Expansion HDD Kit (HDD cooler).

be quiet! 630w (power supply unit).

be quiet! Shadow Wings 80mm (chassis fan).

I have to admit that i really dig the looks of that graphics card (and the sweet case it came in).

Assembled but not optimal (to say the least).

The old case and the Lian Li! assembled.

I must have placed that poor 80mm fan everywhere it could fit in the box and in all directions.

Another solution i tried, an old CPU fan(?) with directional "air cannon".

Please not the two added Titan PCI fans (used for blowing air out of the case).

Well, if two can get a good amount of air out of the computer why not use three?

At this stage i was becoming desperate with my limited options with the case.
